Summary

Gleann Abhann is one of twenty kingdoms throughout the world that are part of the SCA. Their website serves as the information center for local groups in Louisiana, Mississippi, extreme Western Tennessee, and most of Arkansas. This UX update removed the frustration of not being able to access information easily on mobile devices while updating the look and feel and how information was given to users.. My role was to research, design and build the website. I collaborated with kingdom officers to launch this project.

Discovery

I researched and viewed other kingdoms websites to see how they handled certain information and to gage and improve the new design as well as taking feedback from the kingdom on what the needs and wants were.

Design

I created interactive prototypes in order to review decisions and flows with users and stakeholders to streamline the decision and development process.

Wrap up

The project had many challenges, but the most difficult part was condensing a lot of information or old information to fit today’s needs. The goal of the new website was to improve the overall usability across all platforms and provide better access to information . Thankfully we were able work closely with all offices to update content and add more flexible design elements to make information more accessible.
